Quartz Crystal Spa™ Offers Pinnacle of Luxury with 15,000-Square-Foot Bi-level Oasis

TORONTO – Aug. 8, 2012 – The highly anticipated expansion of Quartz Crystal Spa™ located on the 31st and 32nd floors of the Trump International Hotel & Tower Toronto® is complete, offering spa patrons a natural salt infinity lap pool and infinity-edge whirlpool overlooking the Toronto skyscape, a fully-equipped fitness and movement studio, as well as a sauna to round out the already popular offerings of Toronto’s newest destination spa.

An abundance of natural light and magnificent views set the stage for a meticulously designed oasis that juxtaposes classic Hollywood glamour with modern city skylines. Quartz Crystal Spa takes its name from the powerful crystal mineral recognized around the world for its exceptional healing benefits. Quartz crystal is believed to increase and balance body energy channels, improve physical health assist with soothing meditation and stimulate self-curing abilities.

The mineral theme and benefits are carried through with the addition of the 65-ft. marine-grade, heated, zero-edge natural salt lap pool; the only one of its kind offered by a Toronto hotel. Utilizing 100% pure, natural chlorine made from salt, the pool water is clearer than that of an ordinary chlorine pool, red eye is reduced, and the water feels softer. It also provides for a reduced chemical footprint, making it a greener, more sustainable choice.

The space carries on the striking colour palette of the spa using white as a background and ebony tones as if adding dramatic eyeliner. Surrounded by charcoal grey wood-grain porcelain floors and a backlit, white-quartz tile edge, the pool glows in the centre of the room – bright and cheery by day, sultry and sexy by night. Oversized diamond-matched slabs of edge-lit Calacatta marble -- which appear like large, swim-inspired breaststrokes -- embrace the pool and add a sculptural element to the space. A raised infinity whirlpool sits alongside the pool with a cascading waterfall set against a large Calacatta marble slab. The luxurious space is completed with specially designed black-and-white, contrast-print houndstooth-patterned lounge chairs and benches.

Quartz Crystal Spa has also added a fully equipped fitness facility with Italian TechnoGym equipment and a movement studio for yoga, pilates and personal training. Oversized windows and mirrored panels throughout create a reflective, jewel box effect and the feeling of floating in the sky. The space frames a perfect view of the city, with Lake Ontario piercing through the cityscape.

The new men’s and women’s change rooms, tiled in dramatic black and stark white respectively, each have a cedar sauna, oversized rain showers and lockers. The pool and fitness facility is open to hotel guests, residents and spa patrons daily from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. In addition, spa and fitness room Attachés will be available to guests during spa hours, providing the impeccable service that TRUMP HOTEL COLLECTION™ is renowned for.
