WANT Apothecary Announces First Toronto Location

 Co-founders Byron and Dexter Peart, the design duo behind WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie, along with co-founders Mark Wiltzer and Jacqueline Gelber, are pleased to announce the forthcoming expansion of the WANT Apothecary brand as they open their latest boutique in Toronto, Canada.

The opening, slated for the first week of April, will introduce the same intimate and trusted retail experience originally launched in Montreal in 2011, reinstating the neighborly, curated boutique ambience of a bygone era. Drew Mandel Architects remodeled the space while the interior designer of WANT Apothecary Montreal, Maria Rosa di Ioia, designed the boutique’s modern interior which pays homage to the style of the classic apothecary. 

Setting up shop in a two-story building in the Rosedale neighborhood of Toronto, WANT Apothecary will unveil the unique, sought-after brands they’re known for discovering, and will also include an expanded and elevated selection of women’s footwear and a discerning apothecary counter to explore.

“We’re very excited to bring WANT Apothecary to Rosedale,” says Byron Peart. “With its unique shops, restaurants and local markets, this charming neighborhood feels like the perfect home for WANT Apothecary.”

WANT Apothecary will feature renowned international brands, such as Acne, Filippa K, Maison Kitsuné, Arc'teryx Veilance, Nudie Jeans and Michel Vivien. A dedicated feature wall by WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie will offer the largest selection of the brand’s luxury travel accessories found in Canada.

The expanded apothecary counter will showcase high-quality and effective beauty and body-care brands such as Aesop, Ursa Major, Stop the Water and Astier de Villatte, among others. WANT Apothecary will also be one of only two Canadian retailers chosen to carry cult-favourite Byredo fragrances.

WANT Apothecary will be located at 1070 Yonge Street, Toronto, where the team looks forward to meeting their newest neighbors.
