Trick Stephens Releases Music Video In Honour of Late Friend, Barry "FeelGood" Luksenberg / @KingOfTheDot /

On February 13, 2014, Barry Luksenberg, who rapped under the name FeelGood, died in a motorcycle accident while travelling through South East Asia. World-renowned freestyle rapper Trick Stephens (previously known as Tricky P) produced a music video for his song "Boom Bye Yae" in the wake of this childhood best friend and battle-rap, tag-team partner in rhyme's passing. In honour of what would have been Barry’s 25th birthday (July 25), the video is now live on King of the Dot's YouTube channel here.

The music video was filmed and directed by filmmaker Gabriel Adelman, another close friend of FeelGood who was travelling with him at the time of the accident. Adelman shot the video in a single, rainy night as they walked around the Toronto neighbourhood they all grew up in: St. Clair West, also known as "the 512".

"Sometimes when you lose someone close, you have to get on the highest rooftop possible and tell the world just how much you owe that person; shout the things you wish you could say to them, and you can only pray they'll hear you,” said Trick when asked about writing the song. “I think that's something anyone can relate to."

Whether or not you knew Barry “FeelGood” Luksenberg, "Boom Bye Yae" is an ode to the man who was not only Trick’s best friend and confidant but also the individual who introduced Trick to some of his greatest passions, including freestyling.

Lacing an intricate and masterful style of storytelling over his bass-heavy, grunge inspired guitar riffs, Trick Stephens is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with and a talent to keep ones eyes on from now on.
