Despite a rainy evening in Austin, Day 2 of
the 2015 SXSW Takeover opened it's doors to a near capacity crowd, which
was rewarded for their early arrival with the opportunity to discover a
great variety of new talent, including Chuck English, Joyner Lucas,
Donmonique, Leather Curdoroys and new Atlanta-based indie darling
Father. By the time Smoke DZA hit the stage around 9:30, the venue had
reached full capacity.
Brooklyn newcomers Phony Ppl, delivery their
unique, organic blend of Hip-Hop, Soul and Jazz, offered the perfect
transition into Ghostface Killah & BadBadNotGood who delivered their
new collaborations as well as Wu-Tang classics made new again by the
live band. Dej Loaf and Mike Will Made It's proteges Rae Sremmurd &
Two-9 delivered fan favorites while also introducing new material to the
crowd.

Despite hitting the stage a little late, Wiz
Khalifa allowed his Taylor Gang family to get the first light on stage,
serving instead as their DJ, "DJ Daddy Cat." After manning the 1s &
2s during performances by J.R. Donato, Tuki Carter, Chevy Woods, and Ty
Dolla $ign, Wiz took the stage, delivering an energetic performance
that spanned his entire career before closing out the night with the fam
on stage with "We Dem Boyz."
The 2015 SXSW Takeover wraps up
tonight with 2 shows. The firs offers performances by Allan Kingdom,
Iamsu! Redman, G Easy, Joey Badass and the headlining show will present
the Dreamville Takeover featuring J. Cole, Bas, Cozz, Omen.
