Exclusive VIP Party at The Drake Features Preview of Festival Experiences and Special Performance by River Tiber

Republic Live announced earlier today that their private VIP Preview Party taking place on June 14th at The Drake Hotel will include a special performance by River Tiber, DJ sets from Nino Brown and CRSB and feature the interactive body art of Jimmy Chiale and projections from Alex McLeod.  The event will also include personal shoppers from TOPSHOP TOPMAN highlighting the top festival trends, regeneration station from Equinox, best-dressed photo ops with The Kit, welcome cocktails, prizing from Reebok Classic of course samples of chef Ted Corrado’s specially curated WayHome x The Drake VIP menu.  The special VIP Preview party is only open to 2016 WayHome VIP ticket holders but anyone purchasing a VIP ticket can RSVP for the event up until June 11th.

“We strive to create a specially curated VIP experience with our partners and are very excited to showcase this with our VIP Preview Party at The Drake Hotel,” said Ryan Howes, creative director, WayHome Music and Arts.  “This event will highlight the importance of three of our pillars for WayHome; music, visual art and our culinary experience bringing a small piece of our VIP offerings to Toronto for this private event. We are pleased to have our partners including TopShop TopMan, Reebok Classic, Equinox and The Kit all participating to enhance the fan experience.”

As a part of the VIP experience at Wayhome Music and Arts, ticket-holders can indulge in a series of three mini-restaurants by Drake Hotel Properties: China Town, Drake Café and Sneaky Tee’s. Each unique food station is serving-up Drake’s fresh ‘classic with a twist’ style for breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between! The VIP Preview Party will give guests a taste of what’s to come such as a whole roasted suckling pig + taco station, Korean fried chicken lettuce wraps and salmon fried rice with house-made x[oh]! sauce. Corporate Executive Chef Ted Corrado and his culinary team have created extensive menus celebrating the summer’s bountiful produce that support many local purveyors and farmers to ensure music-lovers are well-fed all festival long.

Upon arrival at The Drake Hotel, VIPs will be greeted with an expertly crafted cocktail, tasty treats and sneak-peek of the breathtaking art installations that will adorn the festival grounds. Alex McLeod’s psychedelic, digitally animated videos will dissolve the hotel’s façade, bringing it to life with unexpected and continuously changing surrealist environments. Inside, Paris-born, Toronto-based artist Jimmy Chiale will paint his distinctive style of abstract art directly on the bodies of willing guests for an interactive experience. From onsite body-painting and a sculptural selfie station to projections and installations, WayHome Music and Arts will be an artistic playground.

“The Drake strives to re-invent the VIP concert experience bringing together exceptional cuisine and compelling site-specific art installations,” said Mia Nielsen, Head of Cultural Programming at The Drake. “The Drake is thrilled to be back at the stunning Burl’s Creek Event Grounds to bring its unique brand of hospitality and culture to such a monumental festival”.

The event is strictly RSVP and 19+ and all guests will be treated to welcome cocktail, VIP swag bags and a variety of interactive partner experiences throughout the evening including special prizing from Equinox and Reebok Classic.  As the official fashion sponsor for WayHome 2016, TOPSHOP TOPMAN will be on-site June 14th to get WayHome VIP ticket holders festival ready. Gift bags will be provided to all guests and attendees will receive $50 off their purchase at their next personal shopping appointment.   Guests can also stop by The Kit not only for their latest edition but to snap a photo and learn about their Best Dressed competition that will take place at WayHome Music and Arts this summer.

WayHome Music and Arts, produced by Republic Live, includes headliners
LCD Soundsystem, Arcade Fire and The Killers, who will be joined by Major Lazer, M83, HAIM, Metric, Chvrches, Ray LaMontagne, and additional 60+ artists.  The festival offers four stages, a variety of late-night spectacles and experiences, original art installations, fine international and local cuisine, an on-site farmers market and more.  All ticket offerings are currently on-sale exclusively at www.wayhome.com
