Prepping the debut of his upcoming project Conflicted: A Tragic Love Story, Gist The Essence releases the visuals for Overstand. Executive produced by Tha Jerm (of SOI), Conflicted: A Tragic Love Story touches on personal battles, both mental and real-life, that Gist The Essence is struggling with everyday. 

"Overstand" is one of those battles. The battle for survival - surviving long enough to be able to change his life for the better - in a society that viewed him as a threat the moment he was born. Throughout "Overstand" Gist The Essence thoughts are enveloped in his own mortality, thoughts fueled by the unjust killings of his people by those entrusted to protect them:

"Life is a beach but I'm standing in quicksand 

and they stand over you so its a must you overstand

see my plan is to 

kill this world and leave my mark before my blood marks when they kill me then you'll forever feel me 

using my real me to build me up my realty & cleaning up before they do me filthy"
