The dog is one of the twelve animal Chinese zodiac signs in
relation to the Chinese calendar, including the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon,
snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig.
Each year, the animal is defined by one of the five
elements: metal, wood, fire, and earth, which give the presiding animal
meaning. The dog is defined by the earth element.
According to Chinese Astrology, people take on the
personality of the animal that is associated with that year. For the year of
the dog, people born in 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, and now,
2018, will embody the characteristics of loyalty, patience, and
reliability. And, because it an earth dog year, those born in the years
mentioned will also experience being communicative and responsible.
