Juno/Latin Grammy Winner Alex Cuba to Pay Tribute to Carlos Santana at 34th Hispanic Heritage Awards
Cuban-Canadian Latin Grammy & Juno Award-winning artist Alex Cuba has recently been announced as one of the performers who will pay tribute to Latin American musical icon, Carlos Santana, who will be receiving the "Legend Award" at the 34th Hispanic Heritage Awards airing next month. The all-star musical tribute includes Alex Cuba, Black Pumas, Juanes, Ally Brooke, and The Mavericks.
Of the opportunity to honour the icon, Alex says:
"I have a huge amount of respect for Carlos Santana - he developed such an amazing musical identity - you hear one note and you know it’s him - he created a sound".
Carlos Santana is a 10-time Grammy Award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member. His unparalleled career has also led him to receive Billboard's Century Award, the Billboard Latin Music Awards’ Lifetime Achievement honor, and was the recipient of the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors Award.
The broadcast will include the Hispanic Heritage Arts Award being presented to Salma Hayek, and will be hosted by John Leguizamo.
