slenderbodies Released their Progressive and Punchy Dream-Pop Album, 'simple shapes’
Indie Pop-Duo, slenderbodies are sharing the video for their new single, “simple shapes” from the album of the same name out now.
The album title is derived from its title track tying the record together, the duo said, “all we really have are the little moments and the themes are escapism, joy, frustration and emotional coping that are at the core of this record. all we leave behind are little parts of ourselves, in the grand scheme of time we are just simple shapes, therefore, living and loving as much as we can in the present is the best thing for us.”
The 16-track album, simple shapes is progressive and punchy with plenty of lush percussive guitars, synth, and fun grooves in the drums. The simple pleasures in life are captured on “smilin” and the internal conflict of wanting to do something dangerous yet exciting on “miracle” encapsulating the album’s energy. The search for consistency on '"tiger balm (magenta)” is finding that relationship balance and the self-love that can sometimes feel superficial on “husky brown.”
