BLACK AMBITION X BILLIONAIRE BOYS CLUB BHM HOODIE BY TAYLOR SIMMONS

Billionaire Boys Club celebrates 20 years of inspiring and championing Black creatives.

In celebration of this year’s Black History Month, BBC joins forces with Atlanta-native and brooklyn-based visual artist, Taylor Simmons for an exclusive hoodie drop, available exclusively on bbcicecream.com and at BBC ICECREAM’s US Flagships in NYC and Miami.

Taylor Simmons—an “oil figurative painter”— reimagines the BBC Astronaut through his lens. A lens which often prompts conversation about depicting Black communities and individuals within the arts without the burden of politicization. Originally painted by Simmons, the BBC-inspired astronaut artwork is transferred onto a 400GSM black hoodie for a quality rendition that transforms the fleece piece into a wearable piece of art.

In partnership with the artist, BBC and Black Ambition got an intimate conversation with Taylor Simmons about his inspiration.

Black Ambition is a non-profit initiative founded by Pharrell Williams, a visionary recording artist, philanthropist, and entrepreneur, working towards closing the opportunity and wealth gap for Black and Latinx communities through entrepreneurship. During the inaugural Black Ambition prize competition in 2021, Black Ambition provided more than $3M to 34 founders who have since gone on to raise more than $50M in the past year. At last year's Art Basel, a panel of expert judges awarded $20k to the top three applicants of the Miami Digital Wearables Prize Competition, an opportunity for Miami based Black and Latinx entrepreneurs to pitch their business ventures in Digital Wearables for a chance to win access to mentorship and growth capital.

$25 from each sale will be donated to the non-profit, Black Ambition in the continuing effort to support its initiatives in funding Black innovators.
