Rapper IDK Talks Going to Prison, New Music, Getting a Call from Kanye, His Nike Deal and More on Latest Episode of the Baller Alert Show

Baller Alert just released its latest episode of The Baller Alert Show featuring rapper IDK. He joins the cast to discuss going to prison, his music career, working with Billie Eilish, getting a call from Kanye, his Nike deal and more.

06:12 IDK tells the cast he's been to prison for armed robbery

"2012 when I got out of prison that's when I started trying to do music seriously. Armed robbery was the case that I had." 

He then details that was his fourth time getting locked up which made him want to take the craft seriously.

"Before I even made it to that point, I probably spent $500,000 of my own money, tryna get this moving."

 He details doing one-off [one album] deals with Independent labels to make the money. "A lot of big artist respect what I do."

He then details having an unreleased song featuring Billie Eilish.

"A big turning point [in my career] was I randomly got a call from Kanye and he was like 'yo I heard about your album' and the album wasn't out yet. He was like 'at some point today can I connect with you?' and I was like bet. And I went to his house and we was eating lemon cake. The next day, Tyler the Creator came to my house to listen to it too."

"I designed five [Air Maxes] in two hours." He says the ones he's wearing in the episode are for friends and family but is working on something with the brand that may be out soon.

"This deal with Nike is like five years in the making. Yeah, I'm signed to Nike officially. That happened last June."

"I'm one of the three artists in history of Nike to have a joint deal with Nike and Jordan. I have a Jordan deal and Nike deal together. I believed it in and wanted that much and proved how much I'd be valuable to them-- for years-- and I never let it go. I think manifestation is a really big part of what I do."
