LA Pop Artist Gwyn Love Drops La+ch produced 'a better me' LP feat. "high in the bathroom"
Growing up in small-town Oklahoma, Gwyn Love (they/them) knew they were destined for something bigger. Now, as the first-ever American artist signed to Vancouver-based 604 Records — they're ready to take on the world. Born into a conservative family with eight siblings, Gwyn was introduced to music at a young age; picking up the cello at just five-years-old and writing her first song at 11. Over the past decade, their sound has continued to evolve — blending what the artist describes as a punk mentality with an electronic-pop vibe.
Gwyn is now sharing their new LP, a better me. Highlighted single, "high in the bathroom," lyrically shows a raw and critical look at party and youth culture norms – a dynamic that can find one isolated yearning for something with more meaning and true connection outside of hedonistic ego based pressure. Gwyn wrote it about being a party when they would have rather been anywhere else.
a better me is a collection of songs i wrote when i first moved to LA. overall, i think this album represents a version of me that finds pleasure in the small things and is finding what genuinely brings me joy in life. these songs reflect on where i've been and how far i've come and La+ch killed the production as always. so excited to share this better me with the world! – Gwyn Love
