Van Eaton Galleries, the world’s premiere auction house dedicated to bringing the best of Disneyana and Pop Culture to fans worldwide, is hosting a major two-day auction this weekend May 3-4, 2025. The “Pop Culture Featuring the Estate of Jay Ward” auction event will begin at 10:00 a.m. PT each day and is a significant celebration of Jay Ward, the acclaimed creator behind Rocky and Bullwinkle as well as an expansive showcase of Pop Culture memorabilia including Pee-wee Herman’s famous bicycle from the film “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure,” movie props from Harry Potter, the Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones and Star Wars. There are over 850 lots in the massive auction that is the first two-day pop culture auction Van Eaton Galleries has hosted to date this year.

Other highlights include original production art from classics like Yellow Submarine, The Simpsons and other animated favorites. Guitars signed by rock legend and tributes to Los Angeles sports heroes. The centerpiece of this highly anticipated auction of the estate of Jay Ward is the art, story sketches and career memorabilia including those items from Crusader Rabbit, Dudley Do-Right and the famed Dudley Do-Right Emporium shop.

Jay Ward (1920–1989) was a pioneering animator and television producer, best known for creating Rocky & Bullwinkle, Dudley Do-Right, Mr. Peabody & Sherman, George of the Jungle, and more. His work is recognized for its wit, satirical humor, and cultural impact, and his studio also created iconic cereal mascots like Cap'n Crunch, Quisp, and Quake. The auction features original art and memorabilia from these productions, offering collectors a rare opportunity to own pieces of animation history

To complement the auction, Van Eaton Galleries has recreated the Dudley Do-Right Emporium within their gallery space for a limited time. Visitors can purchase souvenirs featuring beloved Jay Ward characters such as Rocky, Bullwinkle, Dudley Do-Right, Mr. Peabody and Sherman, and George of the Jungle-bringing a nostalgic retail experience to life once again.
