The second day was held on May 22nd, along with Creepy Nuts performing the song on stage with a special version with eye-awakening DJ intro by DJ Matsunaga.

Creepy Nuts also won 2 awards, Best Opening Sequence and Best Anime Song at Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2025 for their theme song “Otonoke” from the anime DAN DA DAN. The Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2025 was held on May 25th at the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa in Tokyo. The duo also performed their other nominated song, “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” from MASHLE: MAGIC AND MUSCLES The Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc, live during the event.

DJ Matsunaga expressed his joy “We’re so happy. Having not one, but two songs nominated, it’s something we never imagined. We’ve just been focused on making good Hip Hop, so this honor is truly overwhelming.” R-Shitei added “Both 'Otonoke' and 'Bling-Bang-Bang-Born' are ultimately about ourselves. We find the overlap between ourselves and the anime characters and build the songs around that. That’s what made the messages in the songs resonate—because the shows were genuinely interesting, fun, and ones we loved. We’re hoping to do live shows overseas, and if we get to meet you in person, we’d love for you to enjoy our music with us.” DJ Matsunaga lastly said, “If we ever get the opportunity to create anime music again, I hope we can go even further than before. We truly appreciate your continued support.”

The ninth Crunchyroll Anime Awards was co-hosted for the third year in a row by voice actress Sally Amaki and entertainer Jon Kabira. The winners were revealed by celebrity anime fan presenters, including Grammy-winning singer Kacey Musgraves; Canadian director, musician, and actor Finn Wolfhard and American actor Gaten Matarazzo, both from the hit series Stranger Things; global superstar and anime collaborator J Balvin; Italian singer-songwriter Damiano David; musician and actor Rina Sawayama; Brazilian pop icon Pabllo Vittar; American snowboarder Chloe Kim; and screenwriter Zak Penn. Speaking on stage, R-Shitei described the sweep as “an incredible honour”, acknowledging the novelty of the awards and joking, “I’m sure when our video kept getting played, some people were like, ‘Okay, enough already!’ But if it means our music was listened to that much, then I’m truly honored”. DJ Matsunaga added, “It carries an artistic weight. Winning seven awards—this is an extraordinary situation”. R-Shitei also said “I was aware that I was producing a minor genre, so I did not expect this to happen to hip-hop. I am glad that through the efforts of many people, Japanese hip-hop is now being heard” and offered a message to fans around the world, “We have so many songs beyond just ‘Bling-Bang-Bang-Born’. We’d love to take them on tour to different countries. When that time comes, let’s enjoy and have fun together through music.”

“Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” — landed the Billboard Japan’s No. 1 song of the year for the country, taking the top spot on the all-genre Japan Hot 100 chart (which applies six metrics to songs: physical sales, downloads, streaming, airplay, video views and karaoke). The high-octane track also tops the year-end Global Japan Songs Excl. Japan ranked by a huge margin after holding the No. 1 position for 24 weeks, the longest ever in the history of the chart that ranks songs from Japan that are listened to internationally. In total, “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” has dominated 12 year-end Billboard Japan roundups. Also, for US Billboards, “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” debuted at No. 77 on Billboard’s Global 200 chart (Jan. 27, 2024) that ranks streaming and downloads on major digital platforms in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide— to become the highest-ranking song on that week’s list by Japanese artists. It also bowed at No. 48 on the Global Excl. US tally that week. “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” continued to ascend and peaked at No.8 on the former and No. 2 on the latter— again the highest position for Japanese artists in those weeks, indicating that the growing support in the Japanese market played a significant role in the breakthrough on both global charts. As a result in the US, it was certified Gold by the RIAA.
