PAT MURPHY UNVEILS POST SCRIPT, A NEW ARTIST-FOCUSED ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY

Canadian entertainment executive Pat Murphy has announced the launch of Post Script, a new independent entertainment company built around artist management, recorded music, media and intellectual property.

The launch follows Murphy’s departure from LOFT Entertainment and Departure Festival + Conference, where he served as Executive Director and Head of Programming. During his tenure, Murphy helped lead the transformation of Canadian Music Week into Departure, overseeing programming across live music, film and the conference as the event expanded beyond its Canadian Music Week roots.

After helping reimagine one of Canada’s longest-running music industry gatherings as Departure, Murphy is now bringing more than two decades of experience across artist management, live entertainment, programming, partnerships and recorded music to a venture of his own. Post Script is what comes next.

“Post Script is about building the kind of company I believe artists need today,” says Murphy. “Management, records, touring, content, partnerships and media are increasingly interconnected. We want to build around what each artist actually needs rather than applying the same model to everyone.

Post Script will initially operate through PS Mgmt and PS Records, with PS Records launching through a distribution partnership with Universal Music Canada. The relationship pairs Post Script’s independent, hands-on approach to artist development with Universal Music Canada’s distribution infrastructure, expertise and reach.

The opportunity with Universal is to have the best of both worlds,” Murphy explains. “We can remain independent, entrepreneurial and close to the artists while having access to an incredible team and infrastructure when it matters.

PS Mgmt launches with Choir! Choir! Choir! and Sully Burrows as its initial management roster, two very different artist businesses that reflect the broader approach behind Post Script.

Webby Award-winning Choir! Choir! Choir! has built a global community through its participatory live experiences and digital content, collaborating with artists including David Byrne, Patti Smith and Sarah McLachlan. The group tours internationally and its videos have amassed more than 500 million views.

At 19, Sully Burrows is the youngest nominee across all categories at the 2026 CCMA Awards, where he is nominated for Breakthrough Artist of the Year. The Ontario country artist has already landed two Canadian country radio Top 20 singles, with both “Rally Around” and “Put It On Me” reaching No. 14, alongside more than 15 million career streams.

Choir! and Sully are very different artist businesses, and that’s exactly the point,” says Murphy. “The goal is to identify where we can genuinely add value and then build the right team, strategy and infrastructure around each artist.

Post Script will remain intentionally focused as it builds its management and label rosters, with additional ventures across media and original IP in development.

More announcements are on the horizon for PS Records, as they plan to unveil a dedicated country music imprint alongside details of its first artist signing and release. The new imprint will be celebrated during Country Music Week in Saskatoon.
