Aquadive brings back the 70's with an ORIGINAL

Imagine Ford releasing NOS 1978 Mustang convertibles or Chevy making 1968 Corvettes available again. That’s what Swiss watch manufacturers Aquadive has done for the watch world through their release of updated, original manufacture NOS Model 77 dive watches. The model was originally released in 1977 as the Aquadive Maritime. The 1970’s homage craze is in full swing, but few companies have brought the real deal back to life, like Aquadive.

The NOS Model 77 is built out of an original 1970’s case, featuring a sunburst stainless steel finishing and PVD coating.  In the 1970's, AQUADIVE was one of very few companies that applied a layer of copper alloy to the case to make the PVD coating extremely durable. The watch is powered by an original vintage NOS Anton Schild movement Caliber 1902. These movements were stored for 50 years, disassembled, cleaned and lubricated for this limited edition production.

The Model 77’s original stainless steel machined unidirectional rotating bezel has a black aluminum insert and operates on a precise 60 click mechanism. The case measures 41mm wide - excluding crown - and 48mm long, and has 22mm lugs. The watch is supplied on a specially designed NATO or rubber dive strap. The case, bezel, and case back and AS automatic movement are vintage genuine NOS parts originally manufactured in the mid 1970's in Switzerland.

The crystal, gaskets, galvanized dial, hands, and ETA movements are all new Swiss made parts. The new 5mm thick crystal and gasket insure much higher depth rating than the original. The NOS Model 77 case is now depth rated beyond 200m/660ft. An HRV was also added at 2'clock to insure that the model 77 can also be used by professional divers.
