Hip-Hop Hacks had get an exclusive first look at the Billboard chart-topping rap star’s new mobile racing app Fetty Wap: Nitro Nation Stories. A joint venture between Fetty, Moor Games & Creative Mobile, Moor founders Keegan Carter and Davon Robinson will be in attendance on both days running live demos and to meet with students.
Hip-Hop Hacks is a 2-day event taking place at Spotify’s New York City office where high school and college students will study the elements of hip-hop, participate in code and music workshops, network with other students, and learn from music and tech executives.
Exploring how technology has immersed itself in the hip-hop and music community, the goal of Hip-Hop Hacks is to showcase how important technology and hip-hop are to one another. Since its inception in the early 1970s, hip-hop culture has been one of the most important forms of expression for youth.
“The opportunity could not be more perfect,” says Carter. “Mobile is hot right now. Fetty is hot right now. This is the embodiment of hip-hop and tech coming together.”
"We are very excited to speak at Hip-Hop Hacks. Events like this are very important for urban youth and we applaud Young Hackers and the Mixtape Museum for putting it together,” adss Robinson. “Moor is truly dedicated to paving a path for those behind us rather than simply attaining success within the space. Fortunately, this event fits that mentality perfectly. We are looking forward to sharing our current and past experiences with the hackers to help prepare them for what is to come in the future."
For Moore Games, the idea of working with Fetty Wap was conceptualized around the understanding of his brand. The two have joined forces around the premise of fusing high-profile celebrities into the mobile gaming market. Fetty Wap has an infinite love for racing cars and bikes, and is now able to bottle this excitement and display it through technology.
The Fetty Wap Game includes head-to-head streetcar races where the objective is to beat out your opponent. The game offers a story-mode, a local multi-player mode (where friends can race one another) and a street-racing mode. Users will be able to use real cars within the game through partnerships ranging from BMW to Nissan and Ford. The app will additionally be running in-game contests where users of the game with high scores and high time commitments can win what are called “Real Rewards”. Instead of leader boards, users will be able to win physical merchandise, concert tickets, free trips and more.
The app is set to release exclusively in the iTunes App Store early spring 2016 and will be available for free download.
