Common Deer - Glass (Redux) // .@commondeermusic

Common Deer

Formed in Guelph, Ontario and now transplanted to Toronto, Common Deer formed while still at college, centered around the harmonies of Graham McLaughlin (guitar, violin, vox) and Sheila Hart-Owens (keyboards, vox), with Sheila’s brother Adam Hart-Owens (guitar, cello, synths), and brothers Liam Farrell (drums) Connor Farrell (bass). Graham had been writing pop songs since age 11 and through numerous sonic experiments the group developed their sound, eventually working with producer Laurence Currie (Wintersleep, Hey Rosetta!) to release EP I, released in January. The record was followed by a second set of five-songs, II, in September recorded with Gus Van Go (Arkells, The Stills).

Response to the music in Canada has been fantastic, garnering heavy airplay on CBC Radio 2 and CBC Radio 3, two sessions on The Strombo Show, which included an Against Me! cover and tweet from Laura Jane Grace. Their first single “Wait” made CBC Music’s “Top 100 Songs Of 2017”, saying, “In many ways 2017 was a dark year, so Common Deer’s uplifting anthem about standing up and choosing a better way was a welcome rally cry,”

Fresh from their first live appearances at SXSW last week, and currently on the road from LA back up to Canada, we'd love to invite you to see Common Deer perform at their upcoming tour dates.
