As she celebrates the 20-year anniversary of her groundbreaking debut album There’s Something About Remy, two-time Grammy-nominated and two-time BET Award-winning artist Remy Ma is stepping into a bold new chapter of her career with a growing slate of television, film, and storytelling projects beginning with Lifetime’s upcoming psychological thriller Don’t Trust the Girls Upstairs, premiering Saturday, June 20 at 8/7c.

Based on the bestselling novel My Sister’s Daughter by Liv Constantine, the film follows Ashley Preston, played by Remy Ma, a woman whose life begins to unravel after she and her husband Elliot (Garfield Wilson, The Good Doctor) take in her orphaned teenage niece, Serena (Aliyah Marc), following the sudden death of Ashley’s estranged sister.

What begins as an act of compassion quickly spirals into something far more disturbing as strange incidents inside the home begin to escalate. As tensions rise between Serena and Ashley’s daughter Luna (Sasha Rojen), whose troubled past continues to haunt the family, Ashley finds herself trapped in a dangerous web of paranoia, manipulation, and buried secrets. With trust rapidly eroding inside the household, Ashley must uncover the truth before the threat inside her home turns deadly.

The film marks another major acting role for Remy Ma as she continues expanding her presence across television and film while ushering in a new era of storytelling and creative evolution.

“Working with Lifetime again has been an incredible experience,” said Remy Ma. “Ashley is a woman who would do anything to protect her family, but everybody in that house is hiding something. She’s carrying grief, trauma, and pain she’s never fully dealt with, and that made this role feel very real to me. This role challenged me emotionally in ways I didn’t expect.”

Don’t Trust the Girls Upstairs premieres Saturday, June 20 at 8/7c, produced by Navid Soofi for Studio TF1 America in association with Rohm Feifer Entertainment. Kara Feifer, Elisabeth Rohm, Timothy O. Johnson, and Meghan Hooper White serve as executive producers. The film is directed by David Weaver from a script written by Crystal Verge.
