JerkFest
is an annual celebration that brings together delicious jerk cuisine, exciting
music and great family friendly entertainment. From families with young
children to businesses and the entire community at large, the festival has something
for everyone to enjoy.
The 16th annual Grace Jerk Festival is
pleased to announce the August 11-13 headliners. The 3-day performance
schedule kicks off on August 11th with featured performances by Brian
McKnight, The Pinchers, Freddie Jackson & Maxi Priest. The full weekend
of delicious food, family fun & activities will be capped off by a night
full of music and dancing.
Brian McKnight – Will be gracing the stage for
our Love and R&B Men of Soul edition on Friday. Along with several Grammy
nominations, Brian McKnight has been the recipient of American Music Awards,
Soul Train Awards, NAACP Image and Blockbuster Awards, and Billboard Songwriter
of The Year. He has crossed the boundaries of EVERY medium.
The Pinchers – Legendary is just one word to
accurately describe Pinchers, he came up with hits for a variety of producers,
including Philip “Fatis” Burrell and Red Man (Mass Out). The single to make the
breakthrough, however, was “Agony”. It quickly made him a minor celebrity in
Jamaica, to the point where he was offered (and accepted) advertising
endorsements from a local vineyard. Catch him live on the festival stage the 12th and
the 13th.
Freddie Jackson – After almost 4 decades in the
music industry, Freddie Jackson is still upholding his buzz with fans and
promoters around the world. Early on in his career, Freddie became the voice of
the “Grown and Sexy” by singing some of the world’s most memorable music.
Whether it was time to dance or time for romance, Freddie has earned the title
as a one of R&B soul’s most valuable contributors, by performing his long
resume of pure timeless music. Freddie Jackson joins the stage with Brian
Mcknight for our Love and R&B Men of Soul edition Friday the 11th.
Maxi Priest – Only a handful of singers succeed
in transcending their genre without losing the essence of who they are.
Superstar Maxi Priest is one of those artists whose own unique vision has led
him to tremendous international success, being the first reggae artist to have
a No. 1 hit worldwide, including the U.S. Billboard charts.
