Toronto-based bridal and eveningwear designer Christopher Paunil Designs presented their latest collection on the runway at RE\SET™ in collaboration with Toronto Fashion Week® on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. Their latest collection of elegant and refined bridal and ready-to-wear gowns was presented by Herman-Sellers-Gough Furs (HSG Furs) to an elite group of celebrities, socialites, stylists, media, and influencers, including Cindy Sampson, Ann Kaplan Mulholland, Joan Kelley Walker, Sarah Paterson, Talia Brown, and Susan Langdon

Embracing evolution and growth of the feminine, designer Christopher Paunil’s contemporary take on bridal and ready-to-wear gowns is inspired by the women he gets to know intimately during their bespoke journeys together; women who are traditional, yet unconventional, and unapologetically confident. A return to traditional elegance with current sensibilities, this collection, entitled “Essence”, reflects on the journey of the brand, the ever-evolving nature of the bridal industry, and the core of their dedicated customers’ desires.

“Women’s strength and power comes in all forms – for us, we look at how we want a woman to feel in our dresses: empowered and ready to take on the world; that’s the essence of our brand,” explains designer Christopher Paunil, “We are blessed to be able to help our clientele find the dress of their dreams and make the experience one to remember for years to come.”

With a balance of timeless and innovative fabrics for a renewed and current take on the world of bridal design, Christopher Paunil uses only the finest silk-wools, jacquards, and hand-made laces with luxury embellishments from a family-owned company; all ethically made in their factory located outside Madrid, Spain.

“The story started with our ‘Adore’ collection and now we are in our fifth iteration with ‘Essence’. The volumes represent a moment in time for the brand and our history and growth,” says co-founder Chalo Hancock, “Being based in Toronto provides a competitive advantage for us as the world loves Canada and our city. We are blessed to be able to produce our gowns locally – ethical production is not a trend but a key value set for younger, savvier customers who appreciate slow fashion and how and where items are made.”

For the show, Christopher Paunil partnered with luxury furrier Herman-Sellers-Gough Furs to present their latest collection; an exciting opportunity for both brands as their values on luxury and craftsmanship perfectly align.

Similar to the exquisite designs of the practised eye of Christopher Paunil, vintage costume jewellery will support the elegance of their creations. For the first time, TruFaux Jewels shared its rare and authenticated collection of bracelets, brooches, clips, earrings, and necklaces from the 1920s through to the 1950s. Each piece is from a notable American or European designer.

Also providing support was the female-led Mortgage Savvy which is on a mission to transcend the mortgage broker industry. Rakhee Dhingra, owner and CEO Mortgage Broker at Mortgage Savvy says, “We are so inspired by Christopher Paunil Designs and honoured to be part of a fashion movement dedicated to helping women feel confident and beautiful on one of the most treasured days of their lives.
