Cynthia Erivo to Host Virtual World Premiere of BVLGARI & Tribeca Studios Female Trailblazers Series

Emmy, Tony, and Grammy-Award Winning Actor and Two-Time Academy Award Nominee
Cynthia Erivo Joins Bvlgari & Tribeca Studios to Shine a Spotlight on Female
Pioneers in the Arts Blazing Their Own Paths & Breaking into Male-dominated Fields.

To celebrate and connect the brand’s rich, cinematic history with leading, contemporary voices of today, BVLGARI – Official Jeweler of Tribeca Film Festival - collaborated with Tribeca Studios on a multi-year short film series highlighting extraordinary women who are breaking boundaries and shattering cultural norms. This year’s two films, ‘Lot 448’ and ‘Ezinma,’ both spotlight independent female pioneers in the arts who blaze their own paths in male-dominated fields at a time of great cultural change.

On Monday, February 1st at 6 p.m. EST, Bvlgari, alongside acclaimed actor, singer and songwriter Cynthia Erivo, will host a virtual premiere of the two films:

Lot 448, directed by Bella Monticelli, follows Lynda Albertson, CEO of Association for Research into Crimes against Art, a leading organization in the prevention and repatriation of art crime and forgery. Albertson tries to stop an auction of a rare Etruscan antefix, suspected stolen from the Necropolis of the Banditaccia outside of Rome. When the antefix matches with two others returned from Getty and Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek museums, the objects are associated with a ring of infamous convicted traffickers flooding the market with excavated pieces. Lot 448 is a race against time through some of Italy’s most famous museums in order to stop the auction and return the antefix to its rightful home.

Ezinma, directed by Alison Chernick, follows a violinist who is revolutionizing the world of classical music. Ezinma, never one to fit into a traditionalist mold, has taken her rigorous classical training and transformed it into a fresh, radical and intersectional genre of her own. Her talent turned her into a social media sensation and led her to work with world-renowned artists, including Beyoncé. We watch as the self-made artist pushes the envelope, gives back to communities not exposed to classical music, and reaches audiences in innovative ways made possible by technology.

BVLGARI has a powerful legacy with daring female figures in cinema, from Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra to Sharon Stone in Casino, thus linking the brand and its magnificent collections to some of the most iconic moments in film. “Lot 448” and “Ezinma” serve as the brand’s next chapter in cinema, bringing cultural issues to light in a contemporary way. To help capture the vision, BVLGARI enlisted Tribeca Studios and its filmmakers to create storytelling magic.  These films are the final two of six produced across Bvlgari’s three-year partnership with Tribeca Studios and the final to premiere in association with Tribeca Film Festival. Following the world premiere of “Lot 448” and “Ezinma,” all six films (the complete Female Trailblazer series) will be available to stream on Google, Apple + and Amazon Prime by mid-February.
