Kyler Gordon Becomes NFL's Highest-Paid Slot Cornerback with 3-Year, $40 Million Extension
The Chicago Bears have secured their star cornerback Kyler Gordon for the long haul, signing him to a record-breaking three-year, $40 million contract extension. Gordon’s new deal, which includes $31.25 million in guaranteed money, makes him the highest-paid slot cornerback in NFL history, keeping him with the Bears through 2028.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity the Bears have given me,” said Gordon. “This contract is a reflection of the work I've put in and the amazing people around me—my coaches, teammates, and family. I’m committed to staying hungry and continuing to grow as a player. The best is yet to come.”
The 2022 second-round pick has quickly established himself as one of the NFL’s top defenders, consistently locking down receivers with his dynamic playmaking ability and football IQ. Gordon’s extension is a testament to his impact on the field and his promising future in Chicago. Gordon will take the field this season under new defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, who has already expressed great confidence in the young corner’s potential.
The deal was negotiated by Kelton Crenshaw of Klutch Sports and Chris Whitacre of Can’t Buy Respect who have brought on The Chamber Group to support their work in shaping Gordon’s public profile and expanding his influence on and off the field.
