The Hip-Hop Caucus recently announced the relaunch of Respect my Vote! 2010, a non-partisan Hip-Hop voter mobilization campaign.
The campaign is designed to educate the hip-hop community on the importance of utilizing their voice to help shape policy in local and national government. The Hip-Hop Caucus has teamed with The Source magazine to create a call-to-action for celebrities, entertainers and athletes to get involved and encourage people to register and vote during the upcoming November elections.
The Respect my Vote! campaign originally launched during the 2008 Presidential election and registered more than 50,000 voters. The grassroots initiative utilized a mobile tour, strategic partnerships and the use of celebrity spokespeople such as T.I. and Keyshia Cole to encourage voter registration.
