The City f. Gee Wunder & Cory Lee definitely represents the city where they reside. Successful artists in their own right, Cory Lee (2 released albums including the Juno-nominated Naughty Song, Karma from Instant Star and soon to be Ms. Oh from Degrassi: the Next Generation) and Gee Wunder (URBNET recording artist, voice of MuchMusic's 'Born To Be') form a dynamic duo whose look and sound represents the multicultural vibe found in their hometown of Toronto (T Dot), Ontario, Canada.
As they say...'real recognize real', so after taking note of each other's grind, Gee and Cory, joined forces in early 2009 to work on a collaborative project to create a fresh and unique sound. Their idea for the group was to turn it into an ongoing collective of Toronto's best urban talent in front-of and behind the boards…and so they did! The City is energetic and exciting, combining pop, hip hop & R&B flavas. Cory's soothing melodies combined with Wunder's gruff voice and street appeal make a perfect musical match.
Listening to The City is like getting right into the streets, nightlife and neighbourhoods of Toronto, a city where you can travel the globe in one spot, in everything from fine food to fine music to fine people.
The City's debut EP boasts guest verses from ongoing collaborators Trish, JD Era & S. Davis with production from Tone Mason, Heavyweight Bangerrz, Ease Ent., Casino and DT Tallaz. So take a chance and follow The City into the T Dot night. The group's debut single "Make Some Money" is a tantalizing taste of what to expect from their yet to be titled debut EP.
