A$AP Ferg may hail from a block in Harlem notoriously known as "Hungry
Ham" (Hamilton Heights), but that never completely defined him. Whether
it be launching clothing and jewellery lines or attending art school, he
constantly bobbed and weaved past expectations. As a rapper,
unpredictably remains his only calling card. The next member of the A$AP
Mob collective to have a solo project, he can slip from gruff, gritty
rhymes to soaring singing, and he does so seamlessly. On his A$AP
Worldwide released mixtape, Trap Lord, he's got his own musical domain
on lock.
Young
Gangsta, more commonly known as YG, is an emcee from Compton,
California. Since being inspired to rap by a hater's MySpace diss during
his time at Paramount High School, he's gone on to release five
mixtapes, and has collaborated with the likes of 2 Chainz, E-40,
Kendrick Lamar, Travis Porter, Jeremih, Freddie Gibbs, Big Sean, Big
K.R.I.T and more. YG owns and operates his own imprint, Pu$haz Ink,
which is currently home to DJ Mustard (who acts as president), PC, Reem
Riches, TeeCee48000 and Ty Dolla $ign. In March of this year, YG
released his debut album My Krazy Life, featuring Drake, Rich Homie
Quan, and ScHoolboy Q.
