Rapper Mac Miller talks with Larry King about what he considers success in the music industry — and it’s not record sales! “The system for what success is varies from person to person. It depends what you want. There’s some people who want to have 10 million singles sold and that’s what they look at success as. For me, it’s being able to touch and affect people in a positive way.”
He also opens up about the factors that lead to his depression including his struggle with adjusting to fame. “Fame is tricky because you read what’s said about you, and then you know what you know to be true, and the lines start to blur.”
Mac Miller speaks about Donald Trump's reaction to him having released his song titled Donald Trump. “At first he was really like, ‘Yeah! There’s a song about me!’ But then he was threatening to sue me, he went on a twitter rant, it was all about me, he kept calling me ‘Little Mac Miller,’ which was awesome... And then I realized, who does Donald Trump beef with, and it was me and Obama, I was like, ‘Hey!’”
Addressing his year+ long feud with presidential candidate Donald Trump, Mac Miller says he’d like to get together with Trump, but will he vote for him? “I’ve never met him. We’ve had some issues, which I think is so cool.” Adding, “I would definitely be down to have a conversation with him but will I vote for him? I don’t think so.”
Mac Miller also discusses the acceptance of gay rap and hip hop stars with Larry King saying, “I think it’s about the art. If you’re gay, straight whatever color you are it’s about making great art.”
Plus! Mac Miller answers some hilarious fan questions – including where he buys his pants and his biggest splurge.
