FME 2016: ALL THAT GLITTERS
Day-by-day festival line-up announced with over 65 artists to discover

The 14th edition of the Festival de Musique Émergente (which translates to mean 'the emerging music festival') kicks-off in the heart of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region of Quebec, Canada over labour day weekend from September 1 - 4, 2016.

In line with the FME festival mandate, this year's programming yields numerous glittering musical discoveries alongside established artists who are trying out new material.This, along with a wide range of musical genres being showcased, allows for all fans to find something to love.

Times two
This year's musical focus includes two hip hop concerts at the Paramount. The first brings together Knlo, Brown and Dead Obies and the next day, Krisman & Alem, Rednext Level and Koriass.
Also, with the goal of lessening the possible sleep hours over the weekend, this year also offers two electro concerts. FME hands over the reins of their Nuit Électro Financière Sun Life to Caen France's independant electronic culture festival Nordik Impakt, The first night promises sweaty beats from France with Claude AKA Fulgeance, Baadman and Flow. Sunday night, the Moonshine collective leads the charge.
FME is also collaborating with a local visual art incubator: L'Écart. .. lieu d'art actuel. This year, they showcase two artists with unique viewpoints who flirt between music and experimentation: ÉricK D'Orion and Patrick Bernatchez.
New creative partner
Professor David Paquin and his students from the creative new media studies program at the University of Quebec in Abitibi-Témiscamingue and the Montreal-based band Dear Criminals present a brand new project called 2GPU on Sunday afternoon at the Paramount. With the help of real-time generated stereoscopic 3D projections, 2GPU presents a fully immersive aural reality project with the music of Dear Criminals along with heightened visual scapes.

Opening concert
Quebec Redneck Bluegrass Project warms up the Desjardins outdoor stage before making way for a unique collaborative concert featuring the soft rock and blue-eyed soul of Marie-Pierre Arthur with the searing heavy rock of Galaxie. This collaboration debuted exclusively at the Francofolies festival in Montreal in June 2015 and is being specially presented again at FME.
Additional highlights
Last year's weather was stunningly hot. This year's festival site installations on the main street of the festival will be even more than last year and the festival has negotiated to keep the blue skies for many years to come. As previously announced, Yann Perreau et Half Moon Run are on the main stage on Friday. Samito will perform songs from his debut album as part of the Agnico Eagle family concert on Saturday afternoon. The Hydro-Quebec lounge hosts shows at 11 p.m. every evening and on site food and DJ sets will ensure the festival's hub thrives all weekend long.
Festival passports and accommodation packages are on sale as of July 21 at noon ET and single tickets are available as of August 5 via the FME website only. The FME social platforms (facebook, twitter, instagram, FME website) as well as the mobile app are essential guides to the festival as it approaches. The festival blog, La bouche croche, launches this August and the festival's dedicated radio station CFME begins August 22 locally and is accessible online at radio.fmeat.org. More concerts will be announced soon.
