Fashion Week Paris S-S 17: .@Moncler

Ten tons of sand served as set for the presentation of Moncler’s spring-summer 2017. The collection of the Italian couture house with French roots was no less surprising than the exceptional stage setting.

Besides a large portion of patriotism, the stylized demonstration of strength is shown, too. The runway transforms into a military parade: The models appear in uniforms of the French Foreign Legion. With their kepi and the tricolor blue-white-red on many drafts, the label hence creates an entirely new orientation than during the past years.

Urban style is combined with historic elements: Prints in form of architectural drawings of historic buildings are printed on jackets, coats and pants. The bee, too, that is known from the Napoleonic heraldry has its place in the new collection. Opulently embroidered lace dresses can be construed as a modern interpretation of empress Joséphine.
