ARTS & CRAFTS and RED BULL SOUND SELECT ANNOUNCE
RECORD STORE DAY 12”
FEATURING
CHARLOTTE DAY WILSON, RIVER TIBER, DARCYS, LOWELL, FRIGS, & TENNYSON
Red Bull Sound Select for Record Store Day No. 1 curated by Arts & Crafts is a limited edition collaborative 12” vinyl release in conjunction with Record Store Day on Friday, November 25, 2016. The vinyl celebrates rising Red Bull Sound Select artists like Charlotte Day Wilson, Tennyson and River Tiber, as well as artists on the Arts & Crafts label like Lowell, Frigs and Darcys with a first time vinyl release of their tracks.
Arts & Crafts has been a curator for the Red Bull Sound Select program in Toronto since its Canadian launch in January of 2014. Since that time, Arts & Crafts has had the honour of pairing some of Toronto’s most exciting young acts with renowned artists like TR/ST, Jessy Lanza, Lower Dens, and BADBADNOTGOOD for exclusive events.
Side A of Red Bull Sound Select for Record Store Day No. 1 features artist curated by Arts & Crafts for Red Bull Sound Select program: River Tiber’s laid back soul-pop banger “Gravity”, Charlotte Day Wilson’s sultry, smooth soul anthem "After All" and Tennyson’s hypnotic, dayglo beats of “Nightly”. Side AA features artists signed to Arts & Crafts imprint: The Darcys’ technicolor, synth-heavy R&B track “Lip Service”, Lowell’s ambient house 4am comedown “High Enough” and FRIGS’ visceral sludge pop track “TV”.
The artwork and gatefold packaging, conceived by Vancouver-based designer Cameron Dales, features spot UV gloss and matte lamination with a reflective silver foil stamp.

More about the ARTISTS
Darcys: JUNO and Polaris nominated alt-pop duo gears up to release their new record described by Noisey as "primed for mass consump- tion" and as "a racy hybrid of Phantogram and Beck" (MUCH). Single "Miracle" went top ten at alt radio in Canada and top 25 at alt specialty in US.
Lowell: Dream-pop songwriter with an "inseparable grit" (NPR). Collaborative singles with Icona Pop, Grandtheft (Mad Decent), and Netsky (Ultra). November tour with Dragonette. Recent EP earned praise from NPR, Stereogum, Spin, Pigeons & Planes, and more.
FRIGS: "It's visceral, it spits" says Noisey of Toronto's sludge pop four-piece. Following a North American and UK tour in support of their Slush EP, FRIGS started to see major spins on BBC from tastemakers Huw Stephens, Lauren Lavern, and John Kennedy.
River Tiber: As River Tiber, singer/producer/multi- instrumentalist Tommy Paxton-Beesley is unafraid to push his love for R&B and hip hop production into unusual places: pitching his vocals to sound like Mariah Carey, multi-tracking his voice into a dozen ghost choruses, and narrowing the gap in the soul spectrum between Jodeci and Flying Lotus.
Charlotte Day Wilson: Charlotte Day Wilson is a vocalist, producer and multi-instrumentalist from Toronto. With a focus on creating music that is at once intimate and accessible, driven by the honesty of her voice, Charlotte's debut CDW has garnered global attention including multiple features from Zane Lowe, a sync in in Apple's Shot On iPhone campaign and a US national tour supporting Local Natives.
Tennyson: Brother-sister production duo with an album, two EPs, and countless singles to their name. Their music has earned the praises of Stereogum, Pigeons & Planes, The Fader, and much more. US dates in October and November include Austin City Limits and dates in NY and LA.
