TORRID BRINGS 2018 MODEL SEARCH TO CANADA WITH LIVE CASTING EVENT:

Torrid, the hottest name in plus size fashion, continues its 2018 Model Search tour with a live casting event at Oshawa Center in Oshawa, Ontario. This marks Torrid’s first ever casting event in the Canadian market. Torrid is searching for confident, sexy and fearless women, ages 18 or older, who wear sizes 10-30. Torrid fans will get a unique opportunity to prove they’re model material in person, before representatives of the brand. New for this year’s search, Torrid has curated a panel of judges who will appear at select live casting events and advise on the top ten finalist selection. Project Runway Winner, Ashley Nell Tipton will serve as a judge for the Toronto live casting.

One lucky winner will receive the title, “Face of Torrid 2018,” complete with a Torrid modeling contract and wardrobe. The winner will host Torrid store openings and events as a brand ambassador, star in seasonal fashion campaigns, and appear on the brand’s social media channels throughout the year.

Torrid, the fastest-growing plus size fashion brand in America announces their 3^rd annual Torrid Model Search. Last year, Torrid had more than 10,000 gorgeous and confident plus size women apply through online submissions and live castings. Torrid’s message is simple: to empower women of all sizes to unapologetically “wear what you love.”

Online casting submissions kicked off officially in May on Torrid.com and will be followed this summer with live casting events in four major U.S. markets including Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, and Atlanta. Torrid is also bringing their search to Canada for the first time, with a live casting in Toronto, Ontario.

Also new for this year’s search, Torrid has curated a panel of judges who will appear at select live casting events and advise on the top ten finalist selection. Torrid has tapped the following judges: Ashley Nell Tipton, influencer & Project Runway winner, Priscilla Ono, celebrity makeup artist and Candice Huffine, supermodel and face of Torrid’s Fall 2017 #TheseCurves denim campaign.

The winner, to be revealed in January 2018, will join the ranks of Torrid models and brand ambassadors Lyanna Lynette and Maria Gimena (2016 and 2017 Torrid model search winners). “I’m very excited to have the opportunity to share my experience with the Torrid model hopefuls because I’ve been there,” says Maria Gimena. “The live castings were such a fun atmosphere and Torrid made it so easy for us to be ourselves! I can't wait to see all the beautiful women show off their curves.”
