WARNER MUSIC CANADA RELEASES MIXTAPE PLAYLIST GENERATOR CELEBRATING 50 YEARS 

 

As a part of the ongoing celebration of Warner Music Canada’s 50^th anniversary, the label has released a digital mixtape playlist generator.   Using a base of 2000+ songs that have been associated with Warner Music Canada over the past 50 years, music fans have the opportunity to put together personalized 20 song playlists on Spotify based on genre, era and popularity (everything from blockbuster hits to deep tracks).

“I’ve been playing with this for a couple of weeks now and even I have been pleasantly surprised at some of the songs that have popped up,” says Warner Music Canada’s President Steve Kane. “It’s a blast and really brings back some great memories!”

The release of the Mixtape Playlist Generator is the next in a series of Warner Music Canada 50^th initiatives celebrating the company’s legacy as the first international territory in the Warner Music Group.  On August 18, the label released Covered In Gold 5.0: Side A, the first of a two part series of 14 Canadian songs released by Warner since 1967 covered by 14 Warner Music Canada domestic artists.  Covered In Gold 5.0: Side B will be released digitally later this month.  The entire collection along with the history of Canadian music released through Warner Music Canada will be released as a double vinyl album on November 24.
