Award-winning/JUNO-nominated JD Era is 'Back From The Dead' and set to "Bankroll" with forthcoming album

It’s a new era for JUNO Award nominated Canadian hip hop artist JD Era.

With a new album Back From The Dead set for release November 30th, the Mississauga-based rapper has released “Bankroll” — available now — to early and unsurprising acclaim, including World Star Hip Hop, okayplayer, Exclaim!, Pitchfork, The Source, The Come Up Show, Sway's Universe, What The Hype, Toronto Rappers, World Wide Entertainment TV, Bring Ya Eh Game, Hip Hop Vibe, TrackBlasters, 93.5 The Move, Hot 97FM, Power 105.1, 91.5 The Beat, BBC Radio, and more.

“Bankroll was a lot of fun to make,” JD Era says of the track produced by North P. “It’s a high energy record with a lot of bounce for the ladies.”

Said effect is on display in the track’s accompanying video, a dimly-lit disco dream set in his home town’s storied Scooter’s Roller Palace, open since 1975.

“Turning my childhood roller rink into a gentleman’s club was a dream come true,” JD adds on the shoot location.

He’s the type of artist that continues to rack up ‘dreams come true.’ With collabs and performance opportunities alongside Nas, Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Wu Tang Clan, Gucci Mane, Tyga, Kardinal Offishall, Machine Gun Kelly, Hopsin, Classified, among many more, under his gold-gilded belt, career wins also include Best Rap at the Toronto Independent Music Awards, TAG Records’ Survival of The Freshest Champion, Best Freestyle at Marc Ecko Freestyle Competition and Pony Freestyle Contest, Best Rap Artist at the IMTA Awards, and Best Rap Artist at the MOBO Awards among them. He was nominated for a JUNO Award for Rap Recording of the Year, and twice for Best Rap Artist at the DJ Stylus Awards.

Back From The Dead is JD Era’s fourth full-length album release following 2012’s No Handouts, 2011’s Th1rt3en-Black Tape, and his 2007 debut, Prince Of The North.
