Megan Thee Stallion releases new project, "Fever"
Off the heels of a stand-out Rolling Loud Miami festival performance, Houston based rapper and “First Lady of 300 Entertainment” as coined by COMPLEX, Megan Thee Stallion has released her project Fever via 1501 Certified / 300 Entertainment. The highly anticipated project features Memphis hip-hop icon Juicy J and fast-rising rapper Da Baby. Fever introduces Megan’s college partying persona “Hot Girl Meg” and showcases her musical versatility and growth highlighted by signature rapid-fire delivery and raunchy wordplay that incites a finely tuned mix of sweet, sensual, and savage imagery. Prior to today’s release, the single “Realer” premiered yesterday as Zane Lowe's World Record on Apple Music's Beats 1, the song serves as the opener to the 14-track project and is an anthem that emphasizes Megan’s status while demanding respect as she puts her competition and critics on blast.
"With enough tenacity, charisma, and vibrato rival that of her hometown's most famous alumna, Megan remains unbothered" - PITCHFORK
"Her power lies directly in her self-confidence, honesty, and unmitigated desire to dominate-and not just when it comes to life itself; these qualities pour through her music." - COMPLEX
"Megan is direct and unfiltered, sparing no detail of her sexual conquests, which, in contrast to the slowed-down swing that Houston pioneered, she recounts with electrifying pace and precision." - THE FADER
"Her music is unapologetically Southern, with her thick Houston accent bouncing effortlessly over sensual and bare trap beats, allowing her lyricism and delivery to shine through." - ROLLING STONE
"[Megan Thee Stallion] exudes a confidence of an artist that has been mastering the game for at least a decade" - BILLBOARD
"The Houston rapper is one to watch" - HYPEBAE
"Megan's sudden rise to prominence is no accident - she's as smart and calculating as they come, which means she's likely here to stay, despite what her detractors in the peanut gallery may think. - UPROXX
"And just like those of Pimp C and Biggie, Megan's lyrics aren't for the faint of heart. They are just as braggadocious as her male counterparts' and exude sex and body positivity." - ESSENCE
"...gives hope for a generation of women who don't need validation from anyone but themselves" - REFINERY 29
