AXS TV CELEBRATES BLACK HISTORY MONTH EVERY SATURDAY IN FEBRUARY WITH A LINEUP OF ARTIST PROFILES & EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWS FEATURING AFRICAN-AMERICAN ICONS, AIRING FROM 8-10 P.M. ET.
Music Highlights Include Themed Blocks Honoring Artists From Across the Entertainment Spectrum Such as Lenny Kravitz, Prince, Smokey Robinson, Ice Cube, Tina Turner, James Brown & More.
Rock Legends: The Motown Sound
AXS TV pays tribute to some of music’s most influential icons this February with a “Celebrating Black History Month” lineup featuring a special Saturday Stack block on February 6, as well as insightful artist profiles on Rock Legends and candid conversations on The Big Interview With Dan Rather—airing every Saturday at 8pE. The complete programming lineup will also be streamed on the Network’s website.
The month kicks off on February 6 with a star-studded Saturday block packed with music, performances, and more starting with Rock Legends: Lenny Kravitz at 4:30pE. The day also includes celebrated bluesman Buddy Guy opening up about his enduring legacy as one of the genre’s finest musicians on The Big Interview, and a jam session for the ages in B.B. King With Special Guests Terrence Howard, Richie Sambora, and Solange, among others.
February 13 highlights a night of Hip Hop Legends starting with Rock Legends’ look at the revered New York hip hop scene, followed by a deep-dive into the groundbreaking legacy of New York City trio Run DMC, and Dan Rather’s exclusive sit down with rap pioneer and multi-talented entertainment mogul Ice Cube on The Big Interview.
Then, AXS TV salutes a pair of influential Female Legends on February 20, as Rock Legends bows down to the “Queen Of Rock N’ Roll,” Tina Turner, in a special hour-long episode; and soul songstress Patti LaBelle discusses her eclectic career on The Big Interview. The month comes to a close on February 27 with a Let’s Dance Rock Legends lineup highlighting the smooth moves of prolific powerhouse Prince, superstar soul man James Brown, and “The Innovator, The Originator, and The Architect Of Rock N’ Roll” Little Richard.
