Hawks Talon GC Hosts Live Twitch Stream with Rapper, Singer and Songwriter Lil Durk

Hawks Talon Head Coach Wesley Acuff Was Joined by ‘Only the Family’ Founder as Part of the Talon Takeover Series

Earlier this evening, Hawks Talon GC, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, hosted a special livestream on the team’s official Twitch channel as part of a content series called Talon Takeover. As part of the stream, Hawks Talon’s Team Manager and Head Coach Wesley Acuff was accompanied by rapper, singer and songwriter Lil Durk. Durk, originally from Chicago, is the lead member and founder of his own collective and record label, Only the Family. He recently released the deluxe version of his latest album “The Voice” which debuted at #2 on the Billboard Hot 200 Chart this week.

“This Talon Takeover with Lil Durk was a ton of fun,” said Acuff. “He is one of the hottest artists in the industry today, and we had a great time talking with him and playing with him on tonight’s stream.”

During the stream, the conversation revolved around Lil Durk’s background and passion for music and video games.

On Christmas Eve of 2020, Lil Durk released The Voice which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 200 and reigned at the top of the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Album Chart for five weeks. Durk closed 2020 at the top thanks to the release of Just Cause Y’all Waited II, earning his largest commercial debut to date with over 40 million global streams. He also teamed up with Drake for “Laugh Now Cry Later” which gained two Grammy® nominations including Best Rap Song and Best Melodic Rap Performance.

Last year, Hawks Talon announced the creation of the one-of-a-kind content series called Talon Takeover which features celebrities, entertainers and influencers playing various popular video games. The series welcomed Emmanuel Lawrence (also known as Manni Supreme) as the host of the series.
