JOIN THE FIGHT: PEACEFUL FITNESS PROTEST TODAY at 6:30PM DAVID PECAUT SQUARE

Today we invite you to JOIN THE FIGHT and show your support alongside 100+ Toronto health & fitness business owners and the community to advocate to our provincial government to recognize sports & fitness activities and businesses as essential during the imposed COVID-19 restrictions. Today, we are fighting for our mental & physical health, as it is as important as fighting against the virus. 

JOIN IN PERSON OR SHARE ON SOCIAL…. 

The #UnitedWeFight demonstration will include a 30-minute bodyweight bootcamp to showcase that movement is essential for mental health. Accompanied by a live DJ and Performance by Ro Joaquim - the health and safety of the community is a top priority, and safety measures will be in place to protect and support all participants during the protest, including QR code health surveys and contact tracing check-ins, temperature checks, 6ft social distancing enforced at all times, masks to be worn, and no gatherings of large groups.

Live DJ + Special Performance:

  • Ro Joaquim (Rolli Adenmosun), Toronto-based singer-songwriter, spoken word poet and member of the fitness community as the owner of PHNX Fit House. The hybrid artist with influences of new wave, soul and RnB has been releasing Lockdown Freestyle tracks to address the repercussions and impact experienced by many due to the restrictions and negative toll taken on our mental health, our businesses, and our overall wellbeing.

#UnitedWeFight has been created to advocate for the community, make an impact, and influencer change in restrictions that are negatively affecting our health – mental & physical. Health and fitness studios, businesses, programs and resources play a critical role in our overall wellbeing. Outdoor fitness is safe, it is essential, and it is exactly what our community needs now, more than ever. Exercise is part of the solution… not part of the problem.
