One week on from its release on Friday 16th April, Young Thug and Young Stoner Life Records’ Slime Language 2 has taken over. Holding #1 song (‘Ski’) and album position on Apple Music on its day of release, with Young Thug trending as the #1 topic on Twitter, the album controlled 7 out of 10 of the Top 10 spots on Apple Music charts.

Featuring the whole Young Stoner Life Records roster, as well as featured artists Drake, Lil Baby, Travis Scott, Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Big Sean, Skepta, Nav and more, in its first week, total album impressions reached over 2 billion, amassing over 46.6M global streams. All artists featured on Slime Language 2 also charted in Apple Music’s Top 50 chart.

In addition, track ‘Ski’ and its accompanying viral video earned over 4.5M views in just 5 days. The track and Young Thug’s accompanying Instagram video sparked the viral #SkiChallenge, with A-list participants including Diddy, Drake, Kevin Hart, Future, King Combs, and more, prompting over 37M views on the hashtag. The challenge also trended #4 on Twitter after Young Stoner Life Records launched the #SkiChallenge Bitcoin Giveaway with Cash App.

Notwithstanding, this week Young Thug released another video from the album for ‘Real’ ft. fellow YSL signee Unfoonk. Complex noted on the release, ‘Young Thug and YSL continue to usher in a new era of slime’, with a raw video documenting the trials and tribulations that come with journeying from the bottom to the top.
