4 Minutes Later Release Dreamy New Single "Holding On To Nothing"
Alien-pop band 4 Minutes Later has released a new single, “Holding On To Nothing”. A little pop rock and a bit of synth all wrapped up in sad lyrics that make you want to dance; the new track shows 4 Minutes Later leaning into a 1980’s feel without abandoning their signature nostalgic early pop-punk sound. The single is released alongside an abstract visualizer that allows viewers to sit back, relax, and soak up the sun.
“To us, this is an end of summer type song. The seasons are changing and so are you,” the band says on the new track. “Instrumentally we were heavily inspired by the 80's pop sounds that have been making a comeback and overall, the song gives off this 'Late Summer, Sunset Cruise' vibe. So roll down the windows and sing it!”
UFOs, aliens, cryptids - the internet community loves a good mystery, and 4 Minutes Later is the latest one to take social media by storm. In 2018, the band tweeted a simple “music coming soon”, and that was enough to spark a movement. #whois4ML trended across the United States, United Kingdom, and Mexico before they even put a song out.
4 Minutes Later released their self-titled EP in 2019 and they’ve since gained a loyal following of 12k on Instagram, over 8k on Twitter, and have racked up over a million streams across streaming platforms – all while remaining completely anonymous. No band photos, no music videos, no live shows, no location – until now. 4 Minutes Later revealed themselves alongside a new single and video “In My Head” in 2021, launching the band into a new orbit with much more to come.
