"Only Ever Wanted" is written and performed by Tim Pool. Arranged, recorded, programmed, produced, mixed and mastered by Carter Banks. Drums written, recorded and processed by Pete Parada. Additional instrumentation: Piano, electric guitars, acoustic guitars, bass, back-up vocals, vocal harmonies, bells, whistles etc. tracked and created by Carter Banks.

Tim Pool said of the single's release, “With this song we make our first foray into seizing back the cultural spaces dominated by establishment institutions that hate you."

"Winning the culture war means building culture. The Daily Wire understands this with their children's content and their movies and that's why Timcast started making apolitical shows and now music. We want people who are too scared to speak up to feel like there is another way to make a living, that they don't have to bow down to the cult in order to make good art and we want regular people who don't care for politics to associate with our sphere of influence. 'Only Ever Wanted' is a song about losing a loved one and the pain and anger you feel. Our goal was to just make music that we liked, that made us feel, and keep working toward creating a parallel culture space to work alongside a parallel economy," said Pool.

Pete Parada said, “Tim was one of the first people with a large platform to support me after my dismissal from The Offspring. When I reached out to thank him, he immediately invited me to his home to talk about music and the possibility of working together. I was impressed with the range of material that he had already written and could instantly hear what I would do with those songs. It’s been a great collaborating environment between myself, Tim and Carter. I get excited every time they send a new song for me to play on here in my studio because I know it’s going to be interesting and something that I’ll enjoy sinking my teeth into."

When I heard that Pete was fired over his inability to get the vaccine I knew instantly that The Offspring had made a mistake, both politically and in terms of market opportunity.
