Lambert Founder Mélissa Lambert Secures a Deal in the Den
Businesswoman and celebrated Quebec handbag designer, Melissa Lambert, has made her debut on National television on CBC’s hit show, Dragons’ Den.
The Lambert Founder and President faced the entrepreneurs and venture capitalists on October 13th, with her eye-catching pink truck and collection in tow. Lambert’s objective to reinvent the backpack into multifunctional, fashionable, bags while factoring in sustainable practices, had all eyes on her while she took center stage.
“It was both humbling and exciting to have the opportunity to present my brand to such an influ ential group of the Canadian business community,” said Lambert. “As a fan of the show myself, I knew that I had a 50/50 chance of walking away with a deal. I was pleasantly surprised when all Dragons were open to investing in Lambert,” she adds.
The talented Montreal designer, who seeks to meet the needs of her customers with emphasis on authenticity and practicality, presented her business model and made a request for $1.2M CAD for 10% of the company's shares investment (valuation at 12 million by the end of 2022 fis cal year) in support of future awareness campaigns and to help in catapulting the brand to the next level.
The choice for Lambert was a difficult one, but she ultimately accepted Manjit Minhas offer. An inspiration to the founder herself, the genuine interest in the brand and shared vision to develop and expand in the Canadian market with the potential to replicate in North America was without a doubt, the best pairing for a fruitful and strategic business partnership.
“The investment will be considered for a brand awareness campaign across Canada, one which will seek to explore partnership opportunities with major retailers in Canada and to target cus tomers seeking our quality product. This will also lend itself to expanding our new high-end line, Redefined,” she adds.
