TRAILBLAZERS .idk. AND JOEY BADA$$ UNVEIL THEIR ELECTRIFYING COLLABORATION “DENiM”

Maryland rap polymath .idk. is primed to set 2024 ablaze with his new collaborative single featuring Joey Bada$$. The track, titled “DENiM,” is the latest example of what happens when two of hip-hop’s top lyricists and most respected emcees join forces. The end result is a raw yet refined, litany of robust bars.

“DENiM” finds the duo hip-hop never knew it needed, aka .idk. and Joey, effortlessly blurring the lines between jazz rap and boom-bap. Right out the gate, the man born Jason Mills (.idk.) stacks flex on top of flex as he revels in the nuances of material wealth, like the Pierre Jeanneret couch he mentions in the opening lines of the song. Joey continues the lyrical onslaught of opulence by rattling off a laundry list of accomplishments as he rope-a-dopes with the vintage soul-sampling instrumental.

Elsewhere, .idk. has been on a tear when it comes to moving the needle on a holistic level. Since 2023, he has collaborated with Nike to launch his limited-edition Air Max Pro 97 shoe line, otherwise known as the “Free Coast” F&F sneaker. Then, he was decked out in a custom LANVIN race suit (and helmet to match his custom Mercedes AMG) for his 2023 Coachella debut, all meant to coincide with his highly successful F65 album. Not to mention, he teamed up with legendary composer Jim Lang (Hey Arnold!) to display the full breadth of his artistic vision on the acclaimed project. .idk. closed out 2023 with the return of his music business program, No Label Academy, and by being the first rapper to partner with luxury brands TUMI and McLaren. As an innovative collaborator and incomparable artist, new music from .idk. always sets the tone for what’s to come.

Released independently, “DENiM” is the second collaboration from .idk. and Joey Bada$$, following 2018’s “Lil Arrogant” loosie with Russ. The song marks a new chapter for .idk. as his first solo drop since parting ways with Warner Records.
