SABRINA CARPENTER LANDS ONE OF THE BIGGEST DEBUTS OF THE YEAR WITH BILLBOARD 200 #1 ALBUM SHORT N’ SWEET
Sabrina Carpenter has scored one of the biggest global debuts of 2024 with her unanimously acclaimed new album, Short n’ Sweet, out now via Island Records. It notably debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, marking her first #1 on the respective chart.

he has taken streaming platforms by storm, emerging as Spotify’s Weekly US Top Artist. Not to mention, all twelve album tracks have impressively claimed spots in both Spotify’s US Top 20 and the Top 40 of Spotify’s Global Top 200. Simultaneously, all tracks debuted and are still charting within the Top 40 on Apple Music and the Top 15 on Apple Pop. While “Taste” sits atop both Apple Music’s Overall Song Chart at #1 and Apple Pop at #1, the track has also captured #1 on Spotify’s US chart, dethroning Sabrina’s own “Please Please Please.”
She recently shared the official music video for “Taste” which trended #1 on US Trending Videos, Global Top Music Videos, and US Top Music Videos. The Dave Meyers-directed video features Jenna Ortega starring alongside Sabrina in an exhilarating visual experience.
Of course, the album includes “Espresso” and “Please Please Please,” both of which became instant chart toppers and songs of the summer. “Espresso” became the third fastest song to hit 1 Billion streams in Spotify history while “Please Please Please” continues to dominate popular culture and became Sabrina’s first #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and still rules airwaves at #1 on Pop Radio.
Short n’ Sweet has incited widespread critical applause. Rolling Stone praised how “she delivers a masterclass in clever songwriting and hops between R&B and folk-pop with ease,” going on to assure, “It’s official: Do not underestimate Ms. Carpenter’s pen.” Billboard hailed Short n’ Sweet as “one of the most accomplished pop albums of the year,” and Pitchfork professed, “[Short n’ Sweet] is cheeky, clever, and effortlessly executed.” The New York Times described the album as “hook-filled” and highlighted how “Sabrina Carpenter’s winning streak of singles continues on ‘Taste,’ the lilting, deceptively chirping opening track.” Variety summed it up best as, “Masterful.”
