@SupraFootwear // Pink Party Society

SUPRA has joined Elyse Walker in the fight against cancer by creating a limited edition, Pink Party Society to commemorate this year's annual Pink Party, hosted by Anne Hathaway, on October 19, 2013. All proceeds go to the Cedars-Sinai Women's Cancer Program at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute.
"I started the Pink Party," said Elyse Walker, "in honor of my mother, Barbara Feder, who was diagnosed with stage-four ovarian cancer at the age of 40. Her diagnosis was terminal; she never had a chance to benefit from early detection or any of the numerous new therapies being tested today. I am committed to giving every woman the opportunity for early detection and treatment."
Shortly after the Pink Party's inception, Walker approached friend and SUPRA co-founder, Angel Cabada, with the opportunity to participate in the annual charity event. This will be the fourth year in which SUPRA has created a limited edition shoe to support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) and participated in the Pink Party.
"I've been fortunate to have a lot of strong, talented, and passionate women in my life," Angel said, "and through my friend Elyse I saw how much she, and many others, suffered losing their loved ones. My partner and the designers at SUPRA all agreed we needed to do something to support the fight against cancer, so we did what we do best: we made a shoe that we felt would stand out and help raise awareness in the sneaker community."
SUPRA chose to honor this year's event with the Society high top, the tallest silhouette in the SUPRA catalog. Because of its bold design and striking colorways it's a favorite among celebrities, artists, and athletes. This limited edition style is outfitted with pink camouflage nylon and pink pony hair straps.
The Pink Party Society will be available at fine SUPRA retailers worldwide starting October 4, and then online atsuprafootwear.com starting October 21.
