AN OVERVIEW: ADIDAS’ 747 WAREHOUSE ST. LOS ANGELES / Photo Recap Pt. 2
adidas rolled out a line-up of events
at 747 Warehouse St. in Los Angeles to celebrate basketball
and creative culture. Bringing together basketball fans and those passionate
about design, sneakers and streetwear, the 747 Warehouse St. space embodied
adidas’ belief that basketball is more than a game – it’s creativity;
innovative ingenuity; and a community built not only on sport but also on music
and style.
The two-day festival featured live musical performances
throughout the weekend by headliners N.E.R.D and Childish
Gambino. Special guests and Los Angeles-area art, design and high schools
created performance footwear during two-hour workshops with adidas designers at
the Brooklyn Creator Farm Pop Up. That same day, adidas brought
together the creative minds of Pharrell Williams, Alexander Wang,
Karlie Kloss and Damian Lillard under the banner of
the #TLKS panel series to discuss what creativity means to them and what it
means to the world of sport. Later that night, Kid Cudi took
to the stage, performing for those in attendance. His set included a duet
with West, who had also introduced him. Other performing artists included A-Trak,
French Montana, Kaytranada, Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Cardi, 21 Savage and Pusha
T.
adidas also hosted a celebrity basketball competition between two teams – Snoop Dogg’sWest Coast team of rappers (the winners) vs. 2Chainz’ East Coast team of rappers.
Athletes such as James Harden, Zach Lavine, Nick Young, Chiney Ogwumike, Candace Parker, Von Miller and Jay Ajayi also made appearances.
