CYN To Join Katy Perry For Witness: The Tour In Mexico

Today, Katy Perry announced the opening act for the highly anticipated Mexico leg of WITNESS: The Tour, produced by AEG Presents. CYN will be the opening act for the 5 Mexico dates, kicking off in Mexico City with two shows May 3 and 4 at Arena Cuidad De Mexico, followed by Monterrey’s Arena Monterrey sold out show on May 8 and May 9 and Guadalajara’s Arena VFG sold out show on Friday, May 11.

Last month, CYN released the official video for her latest single, “Alright.” Described as a "dark, dance-floor ready track" and an "ode to self-acceptance" by .” i-D Magazine, the video also prompted V Magazine to note CYN is "on the road to pop stardom."

Written by CYN and produced by Sam De Jong (Gary Clark Jr., 30 Seconds To Mars), “Alright” sees CYN take her undeniable pop prowess straight to the dancefloor, in what’s sure to be the first bonafide hit of 2018. Talking about the inspiration behind the single, CYN details. "When I wrote this song, I was thinking back on all the notes my teachers wrote on my report cards: would be a perfect student if only she would stop talking, attitude adjustment needed, lacking self-discipline, etc. It's almost funny to me how harsh my teachers were and how they made the littlest things feel like the end of the world! After what felt like a ton of pressure under a constant magnifying glass, I still did it my way and I turned out alright."

This week, on April 11^th CYN will be embarking on a string of tour dates supporting Norwegian artistSigrid. Making stops in Toronto, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City, for more information and dates, see below.

“Alright” serves as the follow up to CYN’s previous releases, ”Together” and “Only With You” which she co-wrote with producer extraordinaire, Felix Snow (Selena Gomez, Kiiara, Terror Jr.). “Only With You” was an early standout track for the young artist, following a chance meeting with label founder Katy Perry, who instantly fell in love with the talented pop stars voice and her keen ability to craft a perfect pop song, CYN signed to Perry’s Unsub Records in 2016.
